RSS
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a great tool which is used to access latest news or posts from particular websites. The three methods of adding RSS feed I found were directly putting a specific websites URL into the "subscription" bar, using the directory to find feeds or searching on websites that have RSS. It's quite easy and convenient if you subscribe to numerous amounts of websites, but me personally, I only check a limited amount of websites. So therefore, I don't think I would really use it. Google is ultimately the strongest search engine on the internet, and for those who spend hours of time online I think RSS is perfect. If I want to find out a score of a football game I'd rather go right to NFL or ESPN website itself, so I can get the play by play of the game. Personally, I enjoy searching on particular websites. That's why they're there , to be explored. Google reader may be more convenient than a desktop software because it's web-based. Saying that though, a desk top program would be just as easy to access. The idea of already being on the internet with google reader works for me as if I were to choose, I'd go with the online reader. Also accessing google reader from my mobile device which is quite important is possible. Not all desktop software is compatible with mobile phones. I'm content with searching the world wide web, and currently wouldn't have a reason to use RSS. That doesn't mean its not effective for those who subscribe to various amounts of websites for the latest news. Give it a shot, maybe it's for you, but for my lifestyle today, I wouldn't use it.

Personally I enjoy networking, whether it's writing blogs from my phone (currently doing so), updating friends with recent news or even sharing videos throughout youtube. Networking has become a big part of our culture, and with Twitter it makes it that much easier. I can communicate back and forth to a target audience, and not only that, I can follow users who I feel will benefit my followers. My target audience is male and female weight lifters from all different ages, who share the common goal of achieving success with health and fitness. I've found Twitter very easy to use, and find myself using it more so on my mobile device than anything. It's very effective, and is a great way to communicate. I find it much more effective to communicate with high profile people through the use of Twitter than Facebook. The updates are frequent depending on the user and retweeting important information is really easy to do. The twitter interface was easy to pick up and searching for specific users was equally as easy. For those who want to stay on top of their weightlifting knowledge and pick up a few nutritional tips, I highly recommend getting Twitter. You don't even have to post anything, you can just follow users to keep yourself motivated. It's different from blogging, as users send small sentences or phrases, on what their doing , what their thinking, or even what and where their eating. Blogging
Swagdaddy Fitness is my first official blog. With blogger.com I'm able to not only educate others with weightlifting knowledge but also receive information from others and their blogs. The site is really easy to pick up, but I've switched to the original interface as I felt more comfortable using it. I enjoy the "preview" feature as I constantly critique myself and with the preview button I'm able to do so as often as I like. This user friendly website allows me to take full advantage of the design options and layout my page to attract other weightlifters of all ages. Originally this blog was made with the intentions of doing well on an university assignment, but once making the account I have a new motif. To master the skill of networking and to learn from others which in result will benefit myself and my theories on weightlifting. I want to provide an attractive page, which others can relate to and receive tips in achieving success within fitness. Blogger.com provides opportunities to express ones self, and with that being said, why not give it a shot.
To get ideas on how to make a fitness blog, I've researched online and came across three useful blogs. The first blog I researched is www.menshealth.com. This is a mens health magazine, with stats, exercise routines, recipes, and even dating techniques. The idea is to make ones self confident, and with confidence anything is possible. The second blog I researched was weightliftingepiphanies.blogspot.com. This blog was created to educate others on olympic style weight lifting and the journey one takes achieving it. I personally enjoy this blog because it deals with more advanced lifting exercises and he blogs quite often. Not only does he write about his training days , but he posts videos of what he lifted that day. Watching videos of lifters is really what motivates me and from that I plan on posting videos on Swagdaddy Fitness. The third blog is researched was nutritionunplugged.com. This blog provides healthy recipes for students with a budget, and thats exactly who I am. I feel this site is extremely beneficial , because lets face it, we all get bored of eating the same meals time after time. It's nice to switch it up and get creative in the kitchen, and at the same time making healthy choices which are affordable!! I can't stress it enough, nutrition is the most important part of weight lifting. If you're not getting the right amount of calories and nutrients each day, then your weight lifting and health will suffer. So I highly recommend this blog for others who enjoy cooking and food as much as myself.
Today the internet has to be the most popular way of communication. I'd say more people check the internet for weather updates than turning on the television. The internet is a powerful tool, which if used correctly can be reliable and consistently up to date. Blogs I find are much more convenient to use than reading a magazine for information. You can check a blog anywhere now a days by a mobile device and blogs are free unlike most magazines. Magazines are more flashy and its nice to have something physical, but in reality it's a waste. It's old news which blogs covered weeks before and it's printed on paper which isn't good for the environment. Why read old news, when more up to date relevant information is available at the touch of your fingers. Blogs ultimately are just modern magazines.

Form is Everything
When it comes to weight lifting, knowledge and motivation are the key components which essentially separates the winners from the losers. There are three basic rules to keep in mind when weight training, and ultimately the goals are endless. Firstly, start each exercise with a warm up set. Injury is quite common in the gym and not just by the rookies but even by the more advanced lifters. Put the pride away for 10 minutes and start off with low weights high reps. This increases the heart rate, allows joints to move more efficiently and reduces lactic acid. Now whether you need hard core metal music blasting or the sounds of the weights crashing together, it's time to get serious and what better way to start than an effective warm up. Secondly, Form before weight. This essentially means don't load up the weights if your unsure on how to preform a particular exercise. Make sure you know what weights your comfortable at. The only way to find out is to start off with none and work your way up. Proper form really consists of no unnatural back, neck, leg, arm and chest movements. Your back should always be straight for dead lifts, you don't want to lean too far ahead during squats and bench press you don't want to bounce the weights off your chest. Don't be afraid to ask trainers for assistance. Personally, I make sure I go to the gym with a buddy, to critique my form and to spot me on heavy exercises. Thirdly, proper nutrition is essential for weight gains and building muscle. Depending on what results your going for, has relations to which types of foods you'll want to consume. Protein shakes are a must have, especially for students who are unable to get the proper nutrition living in such hectic lifestyles. For weight gaining and muscle building, I like to stick with high protein high starch foods, Chicken, eggs, potatoes , rice and pasta. Water is also extremely important, drinking water with each meal and all throughout the day. Weight training is a lifestyle, and in order to gain results, one must have the drive, devotion and motivation to train at least 4-5 times a week. Altering muscle groups each day is important, because muscles need time to recover, so at least 2 day rest before working that muscle once again. Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so don't get into weight lifting for the wrong reasons. Weight lifting isn't for everyone, but we have the opportunity to live a healthy lifestyle and that being said for those who do want to increase in size, thats who this blog aims towards.
